Classes

Yoga On The Walkill offers a host of classes for every level, 7 days a week.

Hatha Yoga(All Levels)

Our hatha yoga classes are appropriate for all levels and offers a blend of movement, body-mind connections, breath-work and meditation. This class promotes healing and all around well being.  

 Restorative/Yin Yoga

A slow and soothing practice holding poses in a gentle fashion for long periods of time; restores body alignment and peace of mind. This class is a great way to wind down from a long work week.

 Gentle Yoga

Our gentle yoga classes offer participants a less strenuous experience. These sessions are similar to our hatha yoga classes. However, poses are modified to provide a slower and more individualized practice.

 Meditation

Once per month we provide our community with a meditation session centered around a particular theme. Past themes included mindfulness, stillness, gratitude, chakras and seasonal solstices. A variety of techniques are used to enhance the mediation process. Group discussion is also part of this session.

 Y12SR

Y12SR combines the practical tools of the 12-step program with the ancient wisdom of yoga. Combining the the two creates a model that truly addresses addiction as the physical, mental and spiritual dis-ease that it is. Y12SR is a twelve step bases discussion and yoga practice open to anyone and everyone dealing with their own addictive behavior or affected by the addictive behavior of others. This open and inclusive group takes place every second Sunday of the month. All are welcome.
Yoga and Sound Healing
This is a one hour All Levels Vinyasa class followed by a half hour of savasana and sound healing (sometimes reiki too!) It's a great class to get the energy moving and release what no longer is needed.

Yoga On The Wallkill, founded in 2009, is a place of peace, self-love and acceptance. The goal of Yoga On The Walkill is to provide a yoga experience that unites body, mind and spirit. Each class includes: centering meditation, breathwork, yoga exercises and deep relaxation. Our teachers are united in a desire to help you find your path to better health, mental clarity and less stress. Our experienced instructors incorporate their own unique styles and approaches. We offer a host of yoga classes, workshops and retreats for our growing community. We welcome people of all backgrounds to train body, mind and spirit in a nurturing yet challenging practice. Those who choose Yoga On The Wallkill will become flexible and strong in body, mind and spirit.

Susan received her Master Certification from Yoga Alliance and is does private yoga therapy sessions for people with special needs. She has over 30 years of experience teaching students of all levels and has been a yoga teacher trainer for many local instructors in the Hudson Valley region.

    With over 40 years of experience as a practicing yogi, Tim is an active member of the Yoga Alliance. He has over 8 years of involvement in Carayas technique for Deep Stretching & 12 years of experience leading meditation groups. Teaching others ways to heal themselves is central to Tim's mission.

      Meditation Instructor

      Liesi has practiced yoga for over 40 years and facilitates Yoga On The Wallkill's monthly meditation sessions. She has a background in dance movement therapy and incorporates this into her practice. Humor is not lost on Liesi; she makes it a point to bring her jovial spirit to each and every session she teaches.

        Yoga Instructor

        Kathy completed her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training and Yin Yoga Certification at Stone Wave Yoga in Gardiner. Along with teaching yoga to High Schoolers, she enjoys sharing this practice with all ages and abilities. Kathy enjoys weaving in spiritual teachings so her students can infuse the knowledge they acquired on their mats into a more peaceful daily experience on their journey of life!

          Maureen completed her 200 hr teaching certification at Stone Wave Yoga in Gardiner, NY. Maureen is passionate about accompanying others on their journey inward. “Stepping onto your yoga mat is a beautiful opportunity to check in, to listen, feel and cultivate your mind- body- spirit connection. During a challenging time in her life, running and yoga became powerful tools in emotional healing and building a positive relationship between her mind, body, and spirit. Her classes will incorporate breath to encourage a sense of stillness and grounding along with a slow flow vinyasa to promote strength, flexibility, and balance.

            Yoga Instructor / Co-Owner

            Yvette completed her 200 hr teaching certification at Happy Buddha Yoga in Goshen, NY. She is also certified in Y12SR ( Yoga 12 Step Recovery.) In addition, she is a Level Two Reiki Practitioner. Yvette is passionate about serving people and she integrates spirituality with a vinyasa flow style.

              Susan came to yoga later in life but once she started, she never looked back. She has been a practicing physical therapist for almost 40 years. Susan  completed her 200 hour teacher training certification at Happy Buddha in Goshen. Susan is also a Reiki II practitioner. She is adept at providing accommodations for those with special needs or physical challenges.

                Jane has been practicing yoga for over 10 years and completed her 200 hour certification at Happy Buddha Yoga in Goshen, NY.  Jane is also a Level Two Reiki Practitioner. She believes yoga to be a gift to the body, transforming to the mind, and a beautiful way to connect to spirit. Jane's mission to to make yoga accessible to all and to help her students discover thememselves through connecting body movement, meditation, and self study.

                  Robin started practicing yoga to find balance in her life (between family and a highly demanding job.) She completed her 200 hour teacher training at Happy Buddha Yoga in Goshen NY. She intends to facilitate others find the same peace and well being she found in her practice. Her favorite classes to teach are Restorative yoga.

                    In 2022, Katie earned her 200HR yoga teacher certification in combination with a social-emotional learning (SEL) facilitator certification from Breathe For Change. For Katie, yoga is a time to mindfully reconnect with her body and breathe in order to decrease anxiety, depression, and stress while improving focus, physical strength, flexibility, and balance.

                      Yoga Instructor

                      Paige was introduced to Pilates during her teenage years and quickly became fascinated with the mind-body connection that Pilates fosters. Over the years, she has found immense value in the functional strength and mobility the practice promotes. She recently earned her certification as a Pilates Mat Instructor under Juliet Harvey at Beacon Pilates and is furthering her expertise by working to become a certified NCSF Personal Trainer. Paige is excited about this new chapter in her life and sees her role not just as an instructor, but as a motivator and a guide, helping individuals unearth their hidden potential.
